Starter System Notice – Key-Type Conversion Required

Important: Continental no longer manufactures or supports the pull-type (manual) starter configuration on the O-200-A. All new and rebuilt O-200-A engines are designed for key-type electric starters only.

What this means for your aircraft:

  • If your aircraft has a pull-start system (common on older Cessna 150s and some experimental builds), you will need to convert your aircraft to a key-type starter.
  • New engines must be purchased with a factory-approved key-style starter, included in the configuration or bundled as an accessory.
  • We can help guide you or your mechanic through the conversion process—contact our team for compatibility and pricing.
